New York Thoughts: Part 1

Well I've been in the city for two full days so far and yesterday, while walking through High Line Park- a park built on former railroad tracks that is elevated two stories above Chelsea and the West Village- I decided to sit down and write some thoughts I was having about the city and about life in general. So here they are:

I put on my headphones and disappear into the city: New York becomes the greatest music video ever made

Every view and every moment is too good to miss.

It's easy to see why New York makes everyone become an amateur photographer.

Elevated gardens above the trees, where else would you find this?

I look around at the never ending hipsters and the sight of them is enough to make me proud to be a Midwesterner.

It is easy to see why so many people fall in love in New York City. I look around at the women and you can tell that love at first sight could be a reality.

Women here carry themselves differently than anywhere else; they own the city, men are just the patrons.

The turbulence of a city wind is a most welcomed friend on a blistering summer day.

Those are all my New York thoughts for now, more to come.

Beatles today? I was walking through the city and the song 'This Boy' which was released in 1963 as the B-Side to the far more famous 'I Want To Hold Your Hand' came up on shuffle. I decided then and there for no particular reason that I would put some of the lyrics in my next blog post. It certainly is not the greatest Beatles song, but it is catchy, fun and has a great lead vocal by John. Listen to it sometime and enjoy...

"That boy took my love away
Oh, he'll regret it some day
But this boy wants you back again

That boy isn't good for you
Though he may want you too
This boy wants you back again"
